If you recently made a search on Google and noticed that the site from that result had text highlighted, this is Google’s latest testing feature. It has recently confirmed that it’s testing a feature that takes the searcher from the search results page to a third-party website, then anchors them to its specific location on the website where highlight that content. This is often the thing that Google originally did on mobile through the AMP cache, and is currently being tested on Chrome browsers and desktops.
So now the searchers will see and click on a featured snippet on desktop search. When it’s clicked, searchers taken to the website and Google can move the view down to the highlighted location of the related content.
